My specific role and responsibilities
Designer and developer. Revamp the entire Well.ca Blog and build a more engaging space for blog and video content. It was built on WordPress with a theme chosen by the Lead Designer and then I created a completely customized the project with its own UX and visual design.
Who else was involved
Worked closely with the Director of Marketing as well as responsible hiring a third party company to assist with code speed optimization and some back-end logic functionality pieces.
- Planned out the user experience of the website and how content will be generated and personalized.
- Developed a brand identity for the blog in harmony with embracing the already established identity of the overarching company.
- Came up with the name of the blog “Well Being”.
- Self-taught and took courses on php coding to achieve desired functionalities on the website such as personalized user-facing content.
- Worked with a third party to debug and increase site speed.


Logo Design Process:
- The Blog was to have it’s own identity but had to be married to the parent brand (Well.ca).
- Iterations were created with different designs and names for new the Blog identity.
Key Highlights:
- CEO was reluctant to change the shape of the iconic “Tulip”. A modernized approach was given with softened curves.

Final Product:
- Custom WordPress designed and developed blog website.
- Dynamically pulled content, taxonomies, and archived articles.
Key Highlights:
- Partnered with third party developers to increase site speed, reduce bloat and transfer site to a managed WordPress host.
